IT’S EXCITING.   IT’S A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE.   IT’S FANTASTIC FOR BROADENING KNOWLEDGE.

Commencing September 2022 we will be running Live Online After School Clubs, giving schools the opportunity of offering their pupils the excitement, fun, challenge and benefits of a fantastic learning experience on a weekly basis at an exceptionally affordable cost of £3 per child per week.

The quiz is presented live online by our professional Quizmaster and the children play using any device (PC, laptop, tablet) which our system converts to a handset.  This enables us to include children from schools across the country, making it a unique after school experience for the players, with children teaming up with each other from around the UK.

The quiz, which is 45 minutes long, is composed of 25 fascinating multiple choice general knowledge questions and the players answer every question using their handset.  Throughout the quiz, the quizmaster embellishes the answers with plenty of additional detail, making the quiz really entertaining, capturing the children’s imagination and lighting the fire for further knowledge.

As well as the quizzes being fantastic fun, they are also highly educational and inspiring.  Momentous events in history, incredible geographical landmarks, amazing science, beautiful art, inspiring music and literature, cultures from around the world, current affairs and world knowledge all feature in our quizzes and serve to broaden your pupils’ knowledge of the world around them.

At the end of the term each player receives a Quiz Club certificate to mark their achievement in participating.

WHAT DO YOU NEED AS A SCHOOL TO OFFER THE CLUB?

We make the organisation of the club for a school as simple as possible.  All you will need is:

  • A teacher, teaching assistant or parent to oversee the children

  • A PC/whiteboard/TV to watch the quiz on

  • One device for each child to use as a handset (eg a tablet, PC, laptop or similar) – if you unable to provide one device for a handset per child, then children can share.

  • A suitable room with a good internet signal.

We do the rest, including setting the children up on their handsets and running the quiz from start to finish.  During the quiz, we are always on hand if the person overseeing the club needs any help.

THE COST OF THE CLUB

The cost of the club is £3 per child per week.  We provide the school with a leaflet to send out to parents who can then book and pay for a place with the school directly (if schools wish, they can increase the session fee to cover any of their additional costs).  We then invoice the school at the end of the week of the first session for the number of places booked for the term.

DAYS AND TIMES OF THE CLUBS

We have clubs due to run in the Autumn Term on the following days and times:

MONDAYS             4pm – 4.45pm

TUESDAYS             3.45pm – 4.30pm

WEDNESDAYS      3.30pm – 4.15pm

THURSDAYS          3.30pm – 4.15pm or 4.20pm – 5.05pm

Schools signing up to run a Quiz Club would need to decide which one of these sessions they would like to take part in and on which weeks in the term.  You can select as many or as few weeks as you wish to coincide with your term dates.

BOOKING FOR A CLUB AT YOUR SCHOOL

  • To book your school in for a club, you would first need to email us at amandablair@quizclub.org.uk to register your interest, letting us know which day and time you would like to run the club for the term.

  • We then provide you with a leaflet to send out to parents with details of your club.

  • You do not need to have a minimum number of children taking part in order to have a club.  You can have as many or as few as you wish.

  • We run the clubs throughout the term but you can select which session dates you would like to take part on to coincide with your timetable and half term break.

  • You do not need to confirm how many children will be taking part until the week before the club begins.  This gives you time to get your bookings in from parents.

  • Once you confirm how many children will be taking part, we will send you the passcodes for them to participate.

  • An invoice for the term covering the number of children taking part from your school will be sent at the end of the first week of the club (the charge is £3 per child per week).  This gives you time to recoup the session fees from parents. Schools are welcome to charge a higher weekly session fee to parents to cover their costs as well.

  • If you find more children want to join in during the term, that’s fine.  Just let us know and we will increase the number of players from your school and issue an invoice for the extra participants.
